LEDs are taking position in American houses

In America, the LED technology start to have an important place and becomes more and more common in houses, such as in offices, factories, parking and city streets. LED lighting is more efficient than fluorescents or the old-fashioned incandescent bulbs. The problem with LEDs is their price, they are expensive, but they are gaining popularity as tough federal lighting efficiency mandates are phased in. And by this way, as their use grows, this permit an increasing of the production and result to bringing down their price.

The lighting industry believes that LED technology ultimately will replace traditional commercial and home lighting. LED technology has already moved into high-end fixtures that incorporate the tiny light emitting diodes right into the fixtures.
Another advantage of Home LED lighting is their lifespan, on average, more than 20 years, based on daily use of three to four hours.

LED lighting devices for the home also are moving into novelty and emergency lighting. LED products such as drink coasters and table cloths and water-powered shower heads, for example, are novelty items that never could have been designed using incandescent bulbs.
Even the standard night light seems doomed. LED versions last for tens of thousands of hours and are even portable, becoming flashlights during a power failure.
