LED Lights Make Swinging Cool (Again)
BCXSY, a design cooperative between artists Boaz Cohen and Sayaka Yamamoto have developed a fun and futuristic swing, which uses LEDs and lights up at night. The project has been selected as finalists for the Young Designer category of the Dutch Design Award. The rechargeable LED-lit seat encourages childlike enthusiasm and plain old fun. The Swing Lamp not only makes swinging look cool, but also illuminates playgrounds at night, making them safer. Its installation only requires a backyard, a sturdy tree branch and a penchant for playing.
