Coca-Cola will use LED Lighting for Vending Machines

From 2012 onward, the Japanese branch of Coca Cola, their bottling partners and other affiliates, will provide LED light systems for vending machines with their products in display. This system will be for all new purchases of machines for beverage products in cans and PET bottles.

The idea came under the Coca-Cola’s global business guiding principle, "Live Positively," and an environmental initiative to a sustainable society.

The Coca-Cola system combined with voluntary action plans in the soft drink industry and measures to improve energy saving and introduction of new technology has helped reduce energy consumption for vending machines of 66% over the past 10 years.

The use of LED lighting will help the system to reduce even more the power consumption.
