According to the analysis made by Frost & Sullivan, the market for LEDs will dominate the lighting industry. This technology, supported by the current regulations for energy conservation, will give to this business revenues which could reach nearly 2 billion $ in 2017. Many opportunities are still available to the global R & D in the field of LED efficiency in lumens per watt, performance color and temperature management. Although more expensive than compact fluorescent lamps (CFL), LEDs show an energy efficient and thus less costly consumption.
