This idea developed by an American design studio is still in the conceptual phase, would be able to transform our expended energy into useable power. LED streetlamps would be kinetically charged with the help of a kicker, taking the form of elliptical machines and treadmills. The person exercising will then power the LED strips or bulbs. LED systems are the perfect solution as they are the least power hungry fixture available.
Even if this idea does not come to life, it give a good way on how we can give and use “free” energy that is readily available, and to use it in areas where it is needed. A small Seattle Gym is already giving it a try, by using kinetic energy to power its lighting or music system.
