Solar LED Lights Streamline Traffic Signals with New Design

Thank to Korean designers Gisung Han, Hwanju Jeon & Jaemin Lee, crossing the street has become safer and more eco-friendly.

They have developed a “Wearable Signal Walking Sign” which is a solar powered LED traffic signal that will wrap around trees, lamp posts or poles and wirelessly communicates with traffic lights to display the correct “walk” or “don’t walk” signal.

The idea came from the desire to make road crossing safer. The system consists of a flexible LED panel, attached to a solar panel, the whole being operated by a tiny computer used for wireless communication and a signal converter. This system will ensure pedestrian safety in any sunny place without having to install new poles.
