Overhead bridges in Singapore fitted with LEDs

Fifty pedestrian overhead bridges across Singapore have been fitted with Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights.

A motion sensor an Intelligent Lighting Detection System (ILDS) will switch these lights on automatically when someone walks up the stairs to the bridge.

The use of these lights and motion sensors will reduce monthly energy consumption by up to 50 per cent.
